Christiansburg Service

November 23rd, 2009 marked the launch of the expanded Christiansburg Bus Service. The Two Town Trolley Christiansburg route has been replaced with three routes: The Explorer, Shopper Express and the Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route; all operating Fare Free until January 1, 2010.

The Explorer will serve Christiansburg’s Downtown Central Business District and surrounding neighborhoods.

The Shopper Express will serve the commercial areas near the intersection of Route 460 Business and Peppers Ferry Road.

The Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route requires advance reservations and will provide service from any place in Christiansburg to any destination within Christiansburg. To reserve a trip on the Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route call 540-443-7111, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Connections
Travel to the NRV Mall area: Since the Two Town Trolley Christiansburg no longer operates, your connection to the NRV Mall area is provided by the Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route – just make sure you plan ahead and schedule your trip at least one day in advance.

Travel to and from Christiansburg and Blacksburg: Make your connection at the NRV Mall. The Shopper Express connects with the Two Town Trolley Blacksburg once an hour at 45 minutes after the hour. Reminder: When traveling from Blacksburg to Christiansburg, make sure to plan ahead so that you can schedule a trip on the Go Anywhere! Christiansburg route.

Travel to and from Christiansburg and Roanoke: The Smart Way bus service and BT share some stops in both Blacksburg and Christiansburg. The stop near Kmart is the most convenient transfer point to travel to Roanoke. For more information visit www.smartwaybus.com, or call 1-800-388-7005. Fare Free
All service in Christiansburg will be fare free until January 31st, 2010. Fares will be implemented on February 1, 2010.

Amenities - It's the little comforts that make the trip worthwhile!

Parcel Bins - As an added bonus, buses on The Explorer and Go Anywhere! Christiansburg routes are eqipped with parcel bins above the seats to store your packages. Please ask the Operator for assistance, if necessary.
Bike Racks - Every bus in our fleet has a bike rack and can hold up to two bikes at a time! Be sure to ask your Operator for assistance, if needed.
Child Seats - Our smaller buses, that will be used mainly on The Explorer and Go Anywhere! Christiansburg routes will have child seats.
Reading Lights - Our smaller buses, that will be used mainly on The Explorer and Go Anywhere! Christiansburg routes feature reading lights above all seating.
