Welcome

This year Blacksburg Transit celebrates its 25th year of providing transit service to the community.  It's hard to believe the changes that have taken place since 1983.  When we began service that year we had eight buses.  We now have 36.  In 1983 our route map and schedule could be printed on one page because we only had three routes.  We now have a schedule book that is 27 pages that covers 11 routes.  Our first year in service we carried 650,000.  Today we carry over 2,500,000.  To celebrate our 25 years of progress and service Blacksburg Transit and the Town of Blacksburg are planning many community based events throughout the year.  For more information on these activities please be sure to check our website often.

Although many things have changed over the 25 years, one thing remains unchanged...our commitment to providing safe, courteous, reliable, accessible, and affordable public transportation to the citizens of the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia Tech, and the partnering communities within the New River Valley.  So if you are new to the area, or a longtime resident, please join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary by taking a ride with us.
